C ome enjoy canoeing from the most central rental in Amsterdam! We have a large number of 1-person and 2-person canoes available for you. Officially these boats are called ‘kayaks’, because you paddle on both sides.

With a kayak, the entire city center of Amsterdam is within easy reach. Even if you are not very sporty. Choose the route past the Rijksmuseum or peek at the elephants on the canal behind Artis.

So take your children, grandmother or first date on an original outing and enjoy Amsterdam from the water!

The rental is closed for the winter. You can book your kayak from April 1st 2025 or check out our group activities.

Will I get wet while canoeing/kayaking?
In a canoe you stay largely dry. Drops enter the canoe via the paddle.
When is the best time to go canoeing in Amsterdam around the Amstel?
In the morning it’s quiet in the city and you have the Amstel and the Amsterdam canals all to yourself!
How old do you have to be to canoe?
We recommend booking a two-person kayak for children up to 12 years old and paddling with an adult. You can take a longer trip and have more fun! We have life jackets available for younger children.
Are there lockers for my valuables?
Yes, there are lockers at our locations for clothing and other items. Bring a 50 cent coin or shopping cart coin. You will get this back.

You can also take your mobile phone and wallet with you on the boat in a free drying barrel.
